The Land Rover Defender is the favourite 4x4 for the African Safari fanatics. The vehicle is very spacious, even for travelling with a small family, is very high off the ground and so provides an optimal overview in the bush. The axles tilt as with no other car and you always have road grip and therefore an excellent traction. The low fuel consumption of the Land Rover deserves a special mention, it normally uses 10-14L Diesel, depending on driving style and the road conditions. A safari in a Land Rover must surely be the ultimate “Out of Africa” experience, whether it be Cape Town or the Kalahari.

The latest addition to our vehicle selection is the Land Cruiser 4.2 Diesel, which is also known as the bushcamper. The vehicles’ reputation of reliability and robustness is arguebly the best under the experienced Africa or Australia traveller and that has its reasons. The Land Cruisers have a strong 4,2 litre straight 6 cylinder engine (without turbo), three 100% diff locks, which will get you ahead even in the worst offroad conditions. Unfortunately, these vehicles are in comparison to the Land Rovers very thirsty indeed with an average fuel consumption of 15-30 Litre Diesel, depending on driving style and road conditions. The fuel capacity range of the Land Cruiser is also notably less than that of the Land Rover. The expensive rental rates of the Land Cruiser are due to high maintenance costs and to obtain the expensive vehicle.
“New” Toyota Hilux D/C 3 Litre TDI 4x4 completely kitted with camping equipment, snorkel, long range tank, hi-lift.. and many more.
